Who We Are

  Aber Community Library offers superb Information Services with staff on hand to help with any enquiry. Our mobile library visits many parts of the community, and if you cannot visit us because of illness or mobility problems, our Home Delivery Service can bring the library service to you. 

 Facilities available at our library include a superb range of books, free computer access and a wide range of newspapers and magazines. We also have collections of CDs and DVDs. We offer storytime sessions and other children’s events and activities. Our Children's Library Section has a huge and rich collection of children's reading materials

 ACL works with its community in identifying the activities that the library would offer, that would best meet the needs of this community.  The library offers many different opportunities including reading groups, writing groups, language classes, family learning activities, art and museum exhibitions, cultural activities such as drama, health activities such as well-being classes, information seminars about local volunteering or other opportunities, work experience library gardens, and outreach activities into more remote part of the community through mobile library services. Aber Community Library Staff, Board Members and Community envision a future where all community members and families seeks and find information easily as eager and engaged lifelong learners. 

Library Goals

The general goals of Aber Community Library shall be:

1.  To serve all residents the Aber community and environs;

2.  To acquire and make available to all residents of these community reading materials such as books, periodicals, pamphlets, and other services as will address their needs to (i)become well informed, (ii)locate answers to important questions, (iii)cultivate the imagination and creative expression, (iv)develop skills for career and vocational advancement, and (v)enjoy leisure by means of reading and other media services;

3.   To acquire the means to provide the most frequently requested material locally and upon demand;

4.  To maintain a program of service which locates information, guides reading, organizes and interprets material for people of various backgrounds, and stimulates thinking and intellectual development in individuals of any age;

5.  To strive consistently to discover new methods and improvements for better service for the library’s users;

6.  To review regularly these goals of the Aber Community Library and, if necessary, revise them in the light of new developments

    Monday   to  Friday:

            9:00 am – 7:00 pm

            Saturdays:     10:00am – 4:00pm
